Also often referred to as the China Art Palace, the China Art Museum ( Zhonghuá Yìshù Gong) is the largest art gallery in Asia. It’s also home to the country’s most important collections of modern art, housed in the city’s spectacular China Pavilion, the sole survivor of the city’s Expo 2010 event (and looking a little like an upside-down pyramid). Its fascinating collections of Chinese modern art, exhibits of prominent Chinese artists, as well as numerous works related to Shanghai’s cultural development over the decades.
